Guest: my name is Pablo Pacisso. I have a reservation for seven people.
Host: Yes, sir. Would you like a table in the smoking or non-smoking section?
Guest: in the non-smoking section please.
Host: Very good, sir. Come this way please. Here we are
Guest: Oh it's very nice, but could we have a table by the window, please. The night view of Yokohama is magnificent.
Host: Sure, no problem. Have a seat over here, and your waiter will be right with you.
Guest: Thank-you.
2. Asking for Recommendations
Waiter: Hello, my name is Jack. I’ll be serving you today. Here's your menu. Our special of the day is the cajun shrimp served with rice and a side of red beans.
Guest: Hmmm. There are so many delicious things on the menu. I can’t decide. What do you recommend?
Waiter: I recommend the triple cheeseburger with mushrooms. It comes with a chicken salad and a side of chili cheese fries.
Guest: Thank-you. I think I'll just have a salad.
Waiter: Very good. Would you like anything to drink with that?
Guest: A glass of water, please.
Waiter: Ok, that is one salad and a glass of water. I’ll be right back with your order. Just let me know if you need anything else.
Guest: Thank-you.
3. Where’s our food?
Guest: Excuse me.Our food seems to be taking a long time. We ordered half an hour ago. But our meal hasn't arrived yet.
Waiter: Just one moment, sir. I’ll check on it and I’ll be right back.
(15 minutes later)
Waiter: I’m sorry sir. The chef forgot about your order. We have been pretty busy tonight.
Guest: What? What do you mean? This is unacceptable. I’d like to speak with the manager.
Waiter: Sure, I’ll go get him. I’ll be right back.
(15 minutes later)
Manager: Hello sir, My name is Jack. I am the manager here. Your meal is coming now. I’m very sorry. Your meal is on the house tonight.
